Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, professionally known as Lady Gaga, is a famous singer, songwriter and actress based in America. Born on March 28, 1986, she is the elder daughter of Cynthia Louise, philanthropist and business executive and Joseph Germanotta, an internet entrepreneur. Living with her parents and younger sister Natali, Lady Gaga is raised by a middle-class Catholic family. Throughout her life, she has seen her parents working hard to earn.

Lady Gaga was educated at Convent of the Sacred Heart: all-girls school. As a student, she was very dedicated, disciplined and studious. At the age of four, on her mother’s insistence to be “a cultured young woman”, she began taking piano lessons. As a result, of her excellence, her parents encouraged her and made her go to Creative Arts Camp. Reaching the teenage, Gaga began playing at open mic nights. At Regis High School, she played significant parts in the plays Guys and Dolls, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

For the next ten consecutive years, Lady Gaga enrolled at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute to study method acting. Unfortunately, Her auditions for New York shows didn’t go well, but she appeared in a small role in an episode of The Sopranos.


Revealing about her inclination towards music, Gaga speaks: “I was really, really good at piano, so my first instincts were to work so hard at practising piano, and I might not have been a natural dancer, but I am a natural musician. That is the thing that I believe I am the greatest at”.

Later, she enrolled in Collaborative Arts Project 21: a music school at New York University. Along with studying music, Gaga developed skills for songwriting by writing essays on art, religion, social issues and pop artists. In 2005, she dropped out to explore career opportunities in music.

Marking a start to her career, Lady Gaga formed a band named SGBand with her college friends. She played gigs, sang in downtown pubs and other sites until talent scout Wendy Starland found her. He introduced her to Rob Fusari, a music producer. She got the name ” Lady Gaga” after a happy incident between Fusari and Gaga. She performed a mini set with a piano for a few executives from Island Def Jam records. For the initial three months, it went pretty well, but the label expelled her without any reason. Gaga was very shattered after this happened.

Despite this incident, Lady Gaga was firmly determined to follow her passion. She has gone through various criticisms throughout her journey but had never thought to drop it off.

Apart from that, another mishap took place with her in 2014. According to the sources, Lady Gaga was rapped at the age of 19. She went through mental and physical therapy to recover.

Today, Lady Gaga is for image reinventions and versatility in music. She rose to fame with her debut studio album The Fame. Later, her excellence fetched her “Bad Romance”, “Telephone” and “Alejandro” which emerged as great success.
